EUPHEMIA Ekumah aka Goodgirl LA has opened up on why she sees no competition as a rising music star.
The second music act on Tony Nwakalor’s Soundcore Media says she is focused on being the best version of herself.
“I don’t intend to compete with anyone. I believe there is no life that is better than mine. I am just here to do me and show the world what I have. I don’t like to limit myself or compete with anyone when I could be greater.”
Good Girl LA recently released her first single in 2021 under Soundcore imprint and says the brave Nigerian youths inspired the new song, Bando.
“Bando was inspired by young Nigerians because they are the classic definition of rebellion. A case in point is the #EndSARS protests where youths trooped out en-masse to demand change in the country. Young Nigerians make things happen even when they don’t have opportunities. Also, I see myself as a seed that cannot be buried. If anybody tries to put me down, I would rather germinate and grow even stronger. I am a very resilient person.”
Good Girl LA hinted that she plans to release an Extended Play in the coming months and urged her fans to expect ‘raw energy’ and great music from her. “2020 was a lot and I just want people to be happy. I want to bring positive vibes to the table. I also plan to do a lot of collaborations, especially with female artists, so there is a lot to look forward to,” she said.
On her relationship with Nwakalor’s Soundcore Media Limited, she said, “I had been a friend of the house for some time. Everything just happened at the right time. They were ready to get into business and I was also ready to make certain moves. It was a case of perfect timing.”
