Here is another good news for Liverpool FC concerning their forthcoming games as their head coach, Jurgen Klopp has issued fresh and optimistic update on Star Player, Joel Matip’s fitness.
The Centre-back has not featured in any game since he got injured in December 27, 2020 during their clash with West Brom.
The Germany international has been training and would be fit for their upcoming classes; might even feature versus Manchester United.
However, Klopp while speaking at their pre-match press conference on Friday, said “Joel is close” to returning to the team.
Although Klopp said he is not in a haste to bring in players who just recovered.
“Joel is close. Does it now make sense to throw him into a game with one or two sessions, which he didn’t do yet, but today and tomorrow he might be involved? To bring him [in], I don’t know.”
He added that decisions on whether he will play against United would be made after observing him in his training sessions.
“We have to see, we have to decide, we have to look at him and how he will train, how he looks in training and these kind of things…”
Having the talented defender back is indeed a great thing for the Reds as they have lost two central defenders to long term injury.
We can’t wait to see Matip play again.
