The governor of Amambra state, Willie Obiano has sacked James Nwafor, the former OC SARS for the state and promised that he will face the law.
Obiano announced the sacking of Nwafor when he joined the young people who are protesting against police brutality and he didn’t state the position Nawfor is occupying in his government.
The Governor said, he feels honoured to stand in their midst to share in their feelings and he will make sure James Nwafor is prosecuted even after the sack.
“Today, I join youths of our dear State to say #EndPoliceBrutality and I support them because they didn’t only vote and defend their votes for my 21-over-21 victory, but all their requests are genuine and important; and I’m grateful to honour them all.” The governor said.
The Governor went further to reveal three things that he will do to help the youths and it includes to secure the release of protesters, prosecute James Nwafor and others;
“I feel honoured to be in their midst to share in their feelings; and I’ve made it clear that:
“First, Federal Government has banned SARS, but I will personally visit all SARS offices in Anambra State to make sure that they release anyone they’ve arrested immediately.”
“Secondly, James Nwafor, former OC SARS in Anambra State is sacked and will be prosecuted.”
Thirdly, I will make sure that the Presidency do the needful to make sure there is a better life for our nation.”
