Hoodlums set APC chieftain Young Alhaji’s residence, N100m property ablaze
Property value over N100 million belonging to Benue South All Progressive Congress (APC) chief, Alhaji Usman Abubakar Dan’Maishanu, popularly referred to as ‘Younger Alhaji’ have been early hours of Wednesday set ablaze by some individuals suspected to be brokers of his political opponents
In the previous few weeks, the political state of affairs in Benue South has been tense, particularly within the camp of APC. There was disagreement amongst get together leaders over zoning of the deputy governorship seat, which has put the get together management within the zone in disarray.

Consequently, Alhaji Abubakar who had insisted that the deputy governorship seat be zoned to Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency or Oju/Obi Federal Constituency, attracted fierce opposition from some APC leaders who acknowledged that the zoning ought to stay in Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency, which produced the incumbent deputy governor.
Media guide to the APC chieftain, Mr. Chris Ochapa, in an announcement mentioned the assault could have been masterminded by opponents of the Zone C political chief.

Talking with newsmen, Alhaji Usman Abubakar mentioned there have been crises within the APC over the difficulty of operating mate of the APC governorship candidate. He attributed the disaster to the alleged actions of John Ochoga, Simon Shango and Jack Gyado, who he mentioned, are bent on destroying the get together.
