The issue of insecurity has taken a new dimension and many people are living in fear of the unknown especially in the northern part of the country where bandits and the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists group strike as well as kidnap innocent people on a daily basis.
As a matter of fact, the issue has been worrisome as it has raised concerns among Nigerians on social media platforms. It may interest you to know that there is no single day that passes by without hearing of bad news. In that regard, the president had ordered security agents to shoot at sight anyone found with AK-47 Rifle anywhere in Nigeria.
This development came after bandits Kidnapped over 300 secondary school students in Jangebe, Zamfara state. The good news is that those students have since been released from captivity and have been reunited with their parents.
However, the step taken by president Buhari yesterday, is a step in the right direction as he gave a marching order as regards the issue of banditry. He made it clear that security agencies should shoot on sight anyone who is not authorized to carry fire arms.
Barely 24hours after the president’s order, men of the Nigerian Army (troop of 176 battalion) in Abuja has recorded major success today. According to a report from a Twitter user identified as Uncle Deji, soldiers intercepted 2 Golf vehicles carrying 5 men of Fulani origin in possession of locally made weapons. This happened in Abuja today “during a stop and search operation at the entrance of Kuje area council,” the report confirmed.
