Yesterday, the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, insisted that President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E, Muhammadu Buhari, should resign and allow a more competent hand to pilot the affairs of the nation.
Reviving its call for the resignation of Buhari, the group said the President has failed as the Commander in Chief.

The Spokesman of the group, Hakeem Baba Ahmed, said this during an interview on Channels Television’s on Wednesday, where he insisted that the fact on ground has supported their calls for the President to resign.
In his words, He said;
“The fact on ground supports what we are saying. The President swore under Quoran to protect the lives of citizens. He has failed to do so.”
“This is his fifth year in office. The situation under him is getting worse and there is no indication that it is likely to improve.”
Replying to this, the Minister of Information and Culture In Nigeria, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, during a meeting on Thursday in Lagos, said the calls amounted to playing dirty politics with the issue of security.
The minister said,
“In the wake of the killing, there have been calls in some quarters for Mr President to resign.
“Well, let me say here that this call amounts to playing dirty politics with the issue of security, and it is cheap and irresponsible
“Mr. President was elected in 2015 for a four-year term and re-elected in 2019 for another four-year term.
“No amount of hysterical calls for resignation will prevent him from serving out his term.”
