The surge of ritual cases in Nigeria is becoming worrisome. People should be very conscious of their movement when the year is coming to an end.
People will be looking for all means to get money so that they can enjoy the festive period with their friends. They believe the fastest and the easiest way to quickly get the amount of money they needed is by engaging in crimes like selling body parts, kidnapping, ritual killing, armed robbery among other crimes.
People have to be very careful as this year’ s festive period is fast approaching. The crime rates of this year’ s festive can be the worse because the economy of the nation is currently in shambles as people find it very hard to eat two square meals. The cost of goods and services is increasing day by day. Unemployment rates have increased seriously.
People that will never have thought of indulging in crime would have been pushed to the wall already and might be thinking of committing crimes like rituals killing, selling body parts, kidnapping among other crimes.
Today, we will be looking at the case of a guy along with his crew who killed his girlfriend with some other victims, sell their body parts, and used the money to drink beer.
On the 5th of January, 2021, the police operatives of the Osun State Police Command have apprehend a 30- year- old man identified as Monsuru Tajudeen over the ritual killings that took place in Iwo.
How They Kill Their Victims And Cut Their Body Parts Into Pieces
During an interview with a journalist after he was arrested, Monsuru said, ” We tried to gain the trust of our victims by pretending to be a good person. Most of the time when we carry out the operation, the victims sleep in our house while strangling them in the middle of the night. We would have mutilated their body into pieces before the daybreak for people that wants to buy them.
” I sell body parts to some Muslim cleric and after they pay me, I enjoy myself with the money. I go to a beer parlor, buy drinks and pepper soup to enjoy myself. I don’ t feel guilty when I kill. I have killed a guy that was brought to me by one of my friends, Akeem. I have murdered my girlfriend, Mutiat Alani before and I don’ t feel any remorse.
Other Accomplices Confessions
A guy identified as Akeem Hamzat admitted to bringing his tight friend, Gafari to the apartment of Monsuru where they strangled him to death and he was paid N5, 000 for bringing the guy.
Another 37- year- old guy identified as Yusuf Awayewasere confessed that he purchase a head from Monsuru at the N20, 000 naira per one.
One other accomplice identified as Garba Lukman, aged 31, admitted to buying a human flesh which he used to do a money- making ritual at the cost price of N2, 000.
Commissioner of Police Reactions
Olokode Wale, the Osun State Commissioner of Police revealed that a report of a missing person was filed at the police station on the 11th of November, 2020, and was referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
The police operatives launched an investigation which later led to the arrest of four suspects who had admitted during interrogation and drilling to have abducted and murdered the missing victims namely; Alani Mutiat, Ibrahim Akinloye, Adeolu Akanbi, and many others. One of the suspects arrested had disclosed that he has sold the head which he bought from Monsuru which is still at large.
Efforts are being made to apprehend the other suspects and bring them to the book and we have also exhumed some decomposing remains of the victims to use as an exhibit in the court of law.
Wale said, ” They will soon be charged to court and be prosecuted before the court.
The CP also urges residents of the state to be security- conscious and report to any police station close to them if they noticed any suspicious movement from anybody. He pleaded with them to be the eyes of the forces and walk hand in hand with us to make Osun state safe for everyone to live.
