This Igbo Man Is Nigeria’s Next President, But People Won’t Believe

As the clamour for Igbo Presidency reverberates across Nigeria. One strong personality comes to my mind and that is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Yes, the same leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. He is appearing to be the Bobi Wine of Uganda who is being tipped to unseat the sit-tight dictator, Yoweri Museveni.

Kanu, 53 can do it. He seems to be on a path to lead Nigeria. It is just a matter of when.

Here are the top reasons why Nnamdi Kanu can be Nigeria’s next president:

(1) He is loved by his people:

There is no doubt about the fact that Kanu is a man of influence. He has been running the Radio Biafra for years successfully. He uses the medium to reach out to his millions of supporters all over the world. They listen to him and also contribute their hard-earned money to his Biafra cause. He is like the African Donald Trump. With some adjustments in behaviour and alliances, he could win a presidential election.

(2) He is a fighter:

It took President Muhammadu Buhari four different attempts to become Nigeria’s president. Even when he clocked 70, he still ran for office and he won. Kanu has glimpses of the same fighting spirit. Despite attacks from all quarters, he is still standing strong. Quitters never win and winners never quit.

(3) He has gone to prison:

I know this sounds rather ridiculous but the prison has become a serious factor in Nigerian politics. It is like a stopover for politicians. Olusegun Obasanjo, Buhari and others briefly tasted the prison bars before they occupied the number one seat in the country. Kanu has gone the same route. It is like a ritual!

(4) Kanu is an orator:

Kanu can talk. He is a master of communication and he simplifies whatever he says for all classes of people to understand. If given a strong platform and audience, be will win the hearts of both the young and old in Nigeria. He knows what to tell them, how and when.

(5) Kanu has international influence:

Kanu once addressed the European Union and other international bodies in 2019. He has lived abroad and has the ears of the international community to an extent. With a strong lobbyist, his influence might grow further. This will be an essential ingredient in his presidential campaign. International support is a factor.

(6) Age factor

At the age of 53, look at the impact Kanu has made across Nigeria. Although his activities are riddled by controversies, he is a household name in the country. As Nigerians grow tired of old and tired leaders, Kanu might benefit from the desire for young leaders. Which Igbo politician of his age is as popular as he is?

What do you think of my views? Do you think Nnamdi Kanu can become Nigeria’s next president? Will you cast your vote for him? Share your views in the comment section and let’s discuss freely.
