The imo state youths have stormed the major roads of the state demanding an end to the killings of policemen by IPOB and its unknown Gunmen.
For weeks now, Imo state has been the home of incessant killings with innocent lives being decimated, business activities being crumbled and properties worth billions in naira destroyed with reckless abandon.
Just this afternoon, at least three people were killed while five others were left injured after the police engaged in a gun duel with unknown gunmen along Orji flyover in Owerri North Local Government of Imo State.
The hoodlums, according to sources rode in two vehicles, a blue Toyota Hilux and a white color bus, and on sighting the police, began shooting sporadically and killing three unarmed civilians.
In the process, the special forces who had been monitoring them fired back and wounded four of the hoodlums.
Just yesterday seven hoodlums who operated under the name “unknown gunmen” on Thursday invaded the Orji area in Owerri and it environs and allegedly killed three persons in different locations.
It was said that they started from Orji axis, headed to Spibat area and visited other areas of their choices to conclude their assignments from where three persons were said to have been killed a woman and two men among which was a truck driver.
So also, Ahmed Gulak, a former aide to former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, was killed on Saturday night in Owerri, Imo State capital city.
Imo State police command spokesman Bala Elkana said Gulak was on his way to Sam Mbakwe Airport to catch a flight when armed bandits intercepted and attacked a Toyota Camry in which he and two others were travelling
This has gotten to a point whereby it can no longer be condoned by the youths as they arose to speak up and plead with the government to help them attend to the arising matters.
