IMPRESSIVE! ! ! PHOTO Emerges As Gov. Zulum Pays A Condolence Visit To Family Of Late Gen. Zirkushu, Doles Out Millions Of Naira


Professor Babagana Zulum, the Governor of Borno State pays a condolence visit to the family of late Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkushu at Ribadu Cantonment in Kaduna on Wednesday.

The Governor visited the family by Kashim Shettima, Mohammed Ali Ndume, Abubakar Kyari, Ali Bukar Dalori, and two members of the House of Representatives, Dr. Haruna Mshelia and Ahmad Jaha, who both represent constituencies where the late General Zirkushu was commanding the 28 Task Force Brigade before he was killed by ISWAP terrorists

Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna State, and Brigadier General T Opuene, the Garrison Commander of the Nigerian Army’ s One Division welcomed Zulum at the airport.

After being welcomed by Mr. Gurdebil Zirkushu, a brother of the late General, and other family members, Zulum met Mrs. Blessing Zirkushu, the late General’ s widow, and her five children.

Governor Zulum consoled the family, urging them to take comfort in the heroic legacy left to them by the late General.

The Governor authorized the sum of N20 million in support for the General’ s family. Je also promised that families of soldiers who died along with General Zirkushu will be supported.

The people of Borno, according to Zulum, will be eternally grateful for the late general’ s and other soldiers’ efforts, as well as many others who made sacrifices of their lives in the front lines.

Kaduna Also Announces N2m For Zirkushu

The Kaduna State Government has made an N2 million payment to the late General Zirkushu’ s family.

After Governor Zulum gave N20 million to the family, Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, announced the donation.

Kaduna’ s support, according to Aruwan, was meant to complement Borno’ s efforts to reach out to the late General’ s bereaved family on behalf of the family and the Nigerian Army, Garrison Commander Brigadier General T. Opuene.

He also expressed gratitude to the governor and his party for traveling from Maiduguri to pay a visit to the family. He praised Zulum as a kind leader who always support the troops.

Governor Zulum had contributed a similar amount of N20 million in September 2020 to support the widow and orphans of late Col. Dahiru Chiroma Bako, who died of wounds while fighting Boko Haram terrorists.

Col. Bako was the commander of the 25 Task Force Brigade, which was in control of Damboa and the surrounding axis in southern Borno at the time of Operation Lafiya Dole.

Zulum Postponed The Commissioning Of Southern Borno Projects To Honor Gen. Zirkisu

Governor Babagana Zulum has postponed the commissioning of projects across LGAs in southern Borno to pay tribute to the commander of the 28 Task Force Brigade in Chibok, Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu, and three troops who died on Saturday.

The fallen soldiers were killed in a clash with terrorists who failed to capture a military facility in Askira- Uba LGA.

Governor Zulum’ s tour was set to begin on Tuesday, with dozens of completed government projects, schools, and healthcare facilities ready for the governor to commission.

Zulum’ s spokesman, Malam Isa Gusau, announced the postponement, saying the government will proceed on the commissioning tour after visiting the late General Zirkisu’ s family in Kaduna state.
