Northern Governors rose from an emergency meeting at Sir Kashim Ibrahim house in Kaduna yesterday.
Naija News understands that the meeting discussed critical issues of common interests particularly on the development of Agriculture and the enhancement of security in the region.
Mr Simon Lalung, Governor of Plateau State, who doubles as the group’s chairman read the communique at the end of the emergency meeting.
He stated that the meeting addressed the current security challenges which seems to be increasing despite desperate efforts by all tiers of government to battle it.
He said the forum resolved to continue to adopt a sustainable and holistic approach towards tackling the challenges.
The Governors also adopted the National Livestock Transformation plan and urged states that are not part of the programme to join.
It also noted that the Ruga plan would ensure resettlement and address the dislocated populations in the key conflict zones.
