International Women’s Day is here and in commemorating with women the world over Moses Omo-Ikirodah has joined Nigerians, world leaders and people around the world to celebrate women on this special day.
“While celebrating with our mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, colleagues and friends who play a significant part in our lives today, I enjoin society to offer more supportive roles to our women.
We have seen the role women can play in our society and the world at large when given the opportunity, today the issue of women’s empowerment and gender equality is at the top of agendas across the world.
The most awesome way to celebrate these amazons is for society to give our women greater confidence, more decision-making power and greater access to participation in governance.
Moses Omo-Ikirodah highlighted the giant strides of great women like Okonjo Iweala who broke the ceiling as the first woman and first African to emerge as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization and Kamala Harris who became the first female, Black, and South Asian American Vice President of the United States.
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
