Jeff Koinange is back on our screens and Radio after recovering from Covid-19 virus. The talenetd media personality was away for a few weeks after testin positive to covid-19 and went into quarantine. it did not take long before he recovered and made a comeback to his work and onto our screens again.
Recently after Beatrice Elachi resigned Jeff Koinange took it upon himself to sing to Nairobi Speaker Beatrice Elachi so as to calm her down during an emotional interview onCitizen TV on Wednesday, August 12.
Elachi narrated how her life was at risk before she decided to resign, revealing that she was nearly doused with Sulphuric acid while at work. Another incident that sparked fear in her life was when she witnessed armed youth with a coffin tagged ‘Rest in Peace NMS’ (Nairobi Metropolitan Services).
“I reached a point where I am cautious of who is behind me,” Elachi stated signalling that she was terrified by what she dubbed as Chronicles of City Hall.
Koinange resorted to the musical art known as Sprechgesang and Sprechstimme, German for spoken singing and spoken voice respectively to sum up Elachi’s woes as the two laughed about the issue and selected a song to motivate the embattled politician.
Elachi narrowed down on Linda Randle’s song God on the Mountain. Randle is an American gospel artiste famously known to be part of the Gaither Homecoming group. The former speaker quoted some lyrics of the inspirational song.
“Life is easy, when you’re up on the mountainAnd you’ve got peace of mind, like you’ve never knownBut things change, when you’re down in the valley.Don’t lose faith, for you’re never alone. For the God on the mountain, is still God in the valley.”
She asked Koinange to dedicate it to her and every other person facing tribulations.
“Stay safe and be strong. I will surely play the song on Sunday,” Koinange winded up.
Research shows that music is a form of therapy and is used to aid in physical discomfort by improving respiration, lowering blood pressure, improved cardiac output, reduced heart rate, and relaxed muscle tension.
For mental health, this form of therapy is great for reducing stress’ common negative side effects, such as emotional and behavioural problems.
Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi resigned in an early morning press conference on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.
“This morning I want to humbly tender my resignation to President Uhuru Kenyatta. Sir, it gives me great pleasure to have served as the speaker for Nairobi County from September 2017 when we finished the election to date. We have seen tremendous change and also challenges. With the coming in of NMS, I belive Nairobi will transform into a better capital city.”
“Sir, notwithstanding, for the last few days we have seen lots of conflicts and even life threatening inicdences. I humbly tender my resignation,” she announced in a short live press conference. She also stated that her children had left the house after several threats but calmness within City Hall had returned.
“I wanted to dedicate this song ‘My city, my town. This is how we do it, this is how we get down’. That is Prezzo’s song,” Koinange recited as Elachi broke into laughter.
The award-winning journalist is known for his prowess in country music and Elachi seized the moment to ask him to play one motivational song during his tours, slated for Sundays.
