The popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, well- known as Sunday Igboho has warned President Muhammadu Buhari’ s government that ” if there is bloodshed this weekend, it is going to be very hot. ”
The activist told the federal government that things will be difficult for everyone if the military kills any Nigerian during the proposed June 12 peaceful rally across the Southwestern states.
According to Igboho’ s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, in a video shared on Wednesday night, he urged everyone to stock up food Items from Friday because Saturday is going to be very hot.
He said, ” Let us warn the Federal Government that if there is bloodshed this weekend, the international community is watching, if the military kills any Nigerian this weekend, it is going to be very hot.
” The Yoruba Nation rally will go ahead in every part of Yoruba land and the rest of the country where it will hold.
” Red alarm will begin on Friday. People should stock up food Items from Friday night.
” We are not backing down this weekend; we are ready to take back what belongs to us. ”
Recall that the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has told the Commissioners of Police across the country and the Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police to deal with any organization or individual who will be using the June 12 protests to cause internal insecurity in the country.
Baba disclosed this while meeting with the strategic commanders of the force in Abuja on Tuesday. He stressed that everyone must be law- abiding citizens as Democracy day is being celebrated.
His words, ” June 12 Democracy Day is days away. We’ re currently reviewing the security situation, with a view to ensuring a hitch- free exercise.
” I must, however, remind you all of the need to remain civil with law- abiding citizens, but firm with any person or group that may wish to take advantage of the event to threaten our internal security order. “
