Controversial Nigerian investigative journalist, evangelist and media personality, Dr. Kemi Olunloyo has commended the people of Imo State, for ignoring the sit-at-home declared in the South East by the outlawed secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Dr. Kemi Olunloyo who took to her official Facebook page this evening to share a photo of people going about their businesses in Imo State, despite the fact that today, Monday, September 13, 2021, is supposed to be yet another sit-at-home day.

She equally said that it is absurd for the South Eastern region to continue losing 28 billion Naira every Monday just because of Nnamdi Kanu.

“Imo people don’t care anymore about the IPOB sit at home orders. Losing N28B every Monday because of Kanu is absurd,” Kemi Olunloyo captioned her post on Facebook.

She added, “Kudos to them for stepping outside the box and end brainwashing.”

Recall that the proscribed secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), declared every Monday of the week a day to sit-at-home in the south east. This they say, is to protest the continued detention of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Meanwhile, a lot of media platforms in the country sometime ago reported that the group has suspended the sit-at-home exercise. According to Vanguard newspaper publication of August 15, 2021, reported that the IPOB leadership has suspended the sit-at-home protest declared in the South-East region. The group said the civil action would hence hold only on days that Nnamdi Kanu will appear in court, for the continuation of his trial at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

But in spite that, the people of the region have continued to observe the sit-at-home exercise, for some reasons, though mostly for fears of the unknown. Though the Government of the respective states in the region have consistently assured people of the safety of their lives, as such, that they should go about their legitimate businesses without fear of any kind.
