It is no longer news that popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho has been arrested reportedly in Cotonou. Igboho’s spokesman has finally broken his silence on the incident. In a recent broadcast, Koiki confirmed Sunday Igboho’s arrest as he urged supporters not to panic.
Sharing update about the situation, he said:
‘Lawyers all over the world are working on it. Professor Banji Akintoye has been working tirelessly since midnight. We will not back down. We will not negotiate because Sunday Igboho is not ready to negotiate. Before this incident, we have sued the president to the International Criminal Court. I can state categorically that Sunday Igboho is fine. We shall stand with him in order for him to be released as soon as possible.’
Sunday Igboho has been declared wanted by the Department of State Services few weeks ago. He was then urged to report himself to the nearest police station. The activist however ignored this as he was allegedly planning to travel to Germany before he was apprehended.
