Faith plus action overcomes challenges Brethren, let’s give thanks to the Almighty God for he has kept us to witness, the beginning of the sixth month of 2022. For it is written in Lamentations 3 vs. 22 ( KJV): “ It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not”.

We only need to reflect on the last five months to appreciate the goodness of the Lord to us.

Beloved, as long as we are alive, we are bound to have a challenge or the other but Christians in word and deed will surely triumph.

In our society, a lot of challenges tend to weigh one down. One would not be telling the truth if we dismiss some of these challenges with a wave of hand.

Daily, we read of stories of killings, kidnappings, unfaithfulness, betrayal, suicide, murder etc. Why do people do this?

The answer is found in the Holy Bible, Jeremiah 17 vs. 9: “ The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it”.

This is why for no reason, some fetish people vow that someone would never get married, remain childless or have his certificate but be permanently unemployed. Or even in some cases, a person works hard but some evil forces make sure his life remains miserable.

Believe it or not, these agents of the devil are real but our God is greater than all these forces put together.

Brethren, they can only put you down for a while. Once you stand on your feet and remain with JESUS, the end of that challenge in your life is sure. It will not only end, you will move from sorrow to joy in Jesus name.

Brethren, barrenness, loneliness, unemployment, indebtedness, betrayal, are not enough reasons for anyone to commit suicide.

Ask yourself, is suicide the solution to any of these challenges? The answer is no.

The solution is to have unwavering faith in the LORD.

Many homes have broken because, the woman feels betrayed by an unfaithful husband.

Some men have also gotten tired of a relationship that didn’t produce children after years of marriage.

Brethren, today, I am led to address women.

Sister, fear not. Instead of fear, increase your faith in the LORD and occupy your mind and body.

I mean be busy with the work of the Lord. Be busy studying your Bible. It doesn’t matter how many Bible stories you are familiar with, take a decision to study the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

As you do so, you are empowering yourself spiritually.

Your activity is capable of leading you to the solution to that challenge.

Your study of the Holy Bible draws you closer to the Holy Spirit.

Let’s see what the Lord Jesus said about the Holy Spirit.

John 14 vs. 26&27 “ But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”.

The key words for us are “ Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”.

As human beings, there are times when our heart is troubled. I mean you are worried but don’t allow worries to rule your life. Your God is greater than worries.

Even when you know that the source of a challenge is spiritual, don’t give worry a chance. Keeping on praying as the Holy Spirit leads you.

Remember the word of God to King Jehoshaphat spoken by Pastor Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, a Levite in 2nd Chronicles 20 vs. 15: “And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s”.

Note again the word of God, “ be not afraid or dismayed by reason of this great multitude ( or challenge).

Brothers and Sister, fear begets depression that could lead to sorrow, sickness or even death, it gives room for doubt but faith leads one to joy unspeakable, joy everlasting.

The choice is yours.

Sister, keep your body and soul busy. This cannot be over emphasized. Desist from engaging in idle talks and gossip. As you wait on the Lord, take actions that would lift your spiritual life. Physically, concentrate on your work or even take a course that will empower you.

Stop getting bothered about your husband coming late from work. Often times your assumption as to the reason for his lateness may be wrong. Even where your fears are confirmed, shut it out of your mind with the Word of God as it could only complicate matters.

A Christian that is truly in Christ will testify to the goodness of the Lord at all times.

Lamentations 3 vs. 24-26: “ The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD”.

Let me share with you a brief testimony of a couple waiting on the Lord.

Family pressure led the man to be unfaithful to his wife. He went and impregnated a woman and had a child unknown to his wife.

Suddenly God rose up for the faithful wife and she conceived. She bore a son but the woman observed that her husband wasn’t as joyful as he should. She asked him questions but got no answers.

Her husband’s relations knew what was unknown to her.

Of course, the strange woman had the news that madam had given birth. Trouble started between her and the man. She was unhappy. Her calculation to take over the home had failed.

Suddenly, her baby became sick and died. She cried foul. Accusing the man’s wife of witchcraft.

Of course, the man rose to the defence of his wife, insisting she is a child of God and not a witch.

Her husband became so worried that couldn’t sleep. His wife kept on probing his mind.

Finally, he opened up and begged for forgiveness.

As I write today, they have other children and the man has become a born-again Christian.

Sister, even if doctors have said you cannot have biological children, set aside the report and hold on to the word of God that promises you motherhood.

Children are coming from your body; your spouse will soon be with you. Get ready to move from an unemployed to the employer.

Remember, Luke 1 vs. 37: “ For with God nothing shall be impossible”.

Brothers and Sisters, waiting on the Lord is not a death sentence, it could be a test of your faith or your journey to spiritual empowerment.

Hold on to the assurance of the Lord in Isaiah 54 vs. 1 &3: “ Sing, O barren, that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.

For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left, and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited”.

The world will soon rejoice with you in Jesus name.
