The Department of State Services has invited a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Obadiah Mailafia, to its Jos office.
Mailafia who confirmed the invite to THE PUNCH said he was called to meet with DSS on Wednesday.
The invitation is coming few days after the former CBN deputy had in a radio interview said repentant terrorists told him that a serving northern governor was the Boko Haram leader.
Mailafia who was the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 election, said this while speaking on the current crisis in Southern Kaduna.
He said he had a chat with two repentant terrorists, who identified the Northern governor to him.
Mailafia also said Boko Haram had already infiltrated Southern Nigeria, adding that their plan was to spark a second civil war.
He also revealed that the terrorists moved weapons even during the COVID-19 lockdown.
His words, “Some of us also have our intelligence networks. I have met with some of the bandits; we have met with some of their high commanders, one or two who have repented, they have sat down with us not once, not twice.
“They told us that one of the Northern governors was the commander of Boko Haram in Nigeria. Boko Haram and the bandits are one and the same.
“They have a sophisticated network. During this lockdown, their planes were moving up and down as if there was no lockdown. They were moving ammunition, moving money, and distributing them across different parts of the country.
“They are already in the South, in the rain forests of the South. They are everywhere. They told us that when they finish these rural killings, they will move to phase two.
“Phase two is that they will go into urban cities, going from house to house killing prominent people.”
The one-time Deputy Governor of the CBN had also described the incessant killings and crisis rocking Southern Kaduna as a nemesis.
Mailafia asserted that Nigeria will never return to shape until the Northerners kneel to beg the Ndigbos forgiveness.
He said, “My father was a reverend missionary and pastor, When I was a child, he did so much to protect Igbo families.
“He did everything to protect and feed them, till they nearly killed him and all his family for protecting Ndigbo.
“I have always said it, this country will never be normal until we kneel down and ask for forgiveness for the wicked sins we committed against Ndigbo people.”
Mailafia also alleged that there was reason to believe that the full apparatus of the military was behind the banditry and violence in the North.
“They are financing them, they are giving them uniforms, they are disarming our people and allowing them (bandits) to come and kill and maim our people,” he said.
While confirming the invitation by DSS, Mailafia said the invite was not unconnected to the interview he granted to the radio station.
