The National Youth Service Corp NYSC, in Katsina has debunked the publication by an online social media platform quoting the state coordinator that they have been directed to reopen the orientation camp within the next two weeks.
The state Public Relations Officer, Mr Obemeata Alex, in a statement made available to newsmen in Katsina said the state coordinator had been wrongly represented in the publication.
“Instead, the State Coordinator NYSC Katsina State Alhaji Ahidjo Yahaya said the NYSC Authority in Abuja has directed the Coordinators Nationwide to use the next two weeks to liaise with their various State Governments to complete the on going renovation work of camp facilities.”
The statement added that, this is to have enough time to start preparations towards the reopening of the orientation camps as soon as directives are received from the Federal Government and in line with the NCDC guideline for COVID 19 pandemic.
It stated that, the state coordinator however used the opportunity to call on all prospective Corps Members to be alive to the NYSC official social media handling for authentic information as there is no official pronouncement on the reopening of orientation camps for now.
“As soon as authentic information are received, corps members would be duly informed”, the statement concluded.
