It will be recalled that the incumbent President Buhari administration had ordered for twelve Super Tucano Fighter Aircrafts in April , 2018. And the first half of the total number of the order made arrived NigerIa on the 22nd of July which was about two months ago. That was only three days after the country lost an Alpha Jet to the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in the North-East.
However, after the arrival of the six super Tucano jets in Kano State on the aforementioned date, they were inducted on the 31st of August which was last month. And consequent to that, NigerIans have been eagerly waiting and asking about when they will be deployed to crush the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists who have constituted nuisances to the North-Easterners for about twelve, and the bandits who have also rendered both the North-West and parts of North-Central inhabitable. But on the contrary, based on information, their expectations of the range of the usages of the fighter aircraft is not going to be the case when they are eventually being put to use.
Speaking on this, a popular journalist known as Jide Otitoju has posted a message through his official Twitter account that the American government from whom the weapons were purchased has warned that they must not be unleashed on the bandits in the North-West. Rather, they should only be used against the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists who are based in the Sambisa forest in the North-East.
And such a directive was said to hinge on the fact that while the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists group has been proscribed, the bandits have not been. View pictures in App save up to 80% data.
But the questions are, albeit the bandits have not been pronounced as proscribed:
1.) What significantly differentiate between them and the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists?
2.) What crimes have the terrorists committed that the bandits have not also orchestrated?
3.) Above all, are the American sellers of the war planes supposed to kick against using it again any group that is bent on taking over NigerIa?
