When a family member goes missing, a state of nervousness creeps in to the other family members and his/her disappearance becomes a threat to the stability and peaceful coexistence of the community around. This makes the family members live in acute worry and frustration especially if the missing person has chosen not to get back in touch with them.
However, after the person is found or finally returns home, the family may feel relieved, happy and will even hold a big party. That’s the case of a family in Nakuru who were reunited with their family member who went missing and for 47 years.
James Mwaura who is now 70 years went missing when he was just 23 years old in 1974. According to the family members, James had been sent to the shop to buy rice for the family but unfortunately while on his way to the shop, he lost his way only to find himself in Nairobi with no money and no to take care of him.
Because life was tough for him in the city, he sought another alternative and this made him hitch a ride to Naro Moru in Nyeri county, where he met the love of his life.
On the day of his return to his home, he told his family members that he is happily married and blessed with three children and four grandchildren.
