Members of the APC and PDP in Imo North are collapsing structures for Peter Obi’s Labour Party.

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress in Imo State’s Imo North Senatorial District merged their parties into the Labour Party on Sunday, pledging their allegiance and support to the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.At a ceremony in Umuaro, in the state’s Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, about 2,000 individuals joined the Labour Party, according to Punch.

According to Chikwem Onuoha, a former Deputy Chief of Staff to a former governor of the state, the decision was made after an inquiry proved that Obi was the best presidential candidate among the other candidates.

Onuoha, an APC chieftain, stated:

“Today, both the APC and the PDP are dead in Okigwe. We have decided to merge our zones’ organisations into the Labour Party and strive towards Peter Obi’s win. “Peter Obi is a symbol of hope for Nigerians of all walks of life.” Peter Obi has been tried and true, and he has the votes of the electorate behind him. With the exception of Obi, we will vote LP all the way through. The Labour Party is committed to a broad-based movement. We’ve become wiser, and we want to reclaim our homeland.”

Chidinma Onyenagubo, President General of the Okigwe North Youth Progressives Forum, also stated that his organisation was mobilising people to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards in order to vote for LP in 2023.
