There was a mixed feeling in the air as one of the students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok reportedly returned with her Boko Haram husband in surrender to the Nigerian military troops in the Northeast of the country.
According to sources accredited to Vanguard, the Chibok girl surrendered with her terrorist husband to the surprise of many.
Recall that on April 14, 2014, Boko Haram terrorists invaded the Borno school and whisked away about 276 students including the returned girl.
Most of the girls then were said to have been married off to different commanders and members of the terrorist group. Those who opposed the forced marriage were reportedly killed while others were said to have been sent to other African countries like Chad, Niger, Cameroon, and far away Mali.
Although some of them have since returned, the majority are still within the terrorist camp. If their terrorist husband died in battle, they will simply marry them off to another person. Most that are still alive are already with children.
Although the sources said the Identity of the surrendered female student is being kept secret for now. It is not yet known if she is with a child. The source only said she and her husband have renounced their membership of the extremist sect.
They reportedly surrendered and presented themselves to troops at an unknown location, within the Lake Chad region. The source further said:

” The terrorists’ resolve to surrender may not be unconnected with the destruction of their enclaves and camps by the Nigerian military airstrikes and ground bombardment.
An outbreak of some unknown killer diseases is also said to be killing the terrorists in their droves coupled with food scarcity, which has badly hit the terrorists.
There are many ISWAP and Boko Haram members that are willing to surrender as soon as possible but the military and other security services will ensure the need is done for national security” .
