Nigerians were still trying to comprehend the claim by the Rivers State Government that hoodlums suspected to be members of the Indigeneous People of Biafra, IPOB, stole 50 AK-47 riffles from 6 Killed soldiers in Rivers State.
Only for the Inspector General of Police Committee on EndSARS Protest Damage Assessment to slam another mystery in our faces that 100 AK-47 were looted in Lagos during the #EndSARS protest.
The mystery over the Rivers claim was how and why 6 soldiers had 50 AK-47 riffles on them as it was not reported that they were attacked in their barracks, their armoury or any where containing such number of weapons but on the streets of Oyigbo Local Government Area.
Many observers felt it was a case of giving a dog a bad name to justify it’s killing.
Well, that is that for Rivers but tell us your own thoughts in comments section.
In Lagos, the IG team led by CP, Yaro Abutu, told newsmen that they were in the state becouse it was the epicenter of the protest.
According to him, Thirty seven police stations were attacked in Lagos and about 30 per cent of the police infrastructure in the state has been crippled.
He said preliminary investigations indicate that “100 pieces of AK-47 cannot be accounted for and up to 2,600 pieces of ammunition are missing”.
One will not want to comment on an ongoing investigation but yours faithful will like to advice the committee to ask Policemen responsible for those weapons tough questions.
It has been heard of bankers conniving with criminals to rob their banks and it is not far fetched to reason that Policemen responsible for those weapons may have connived with hoodlums to cart them away.
As the IG’s committee try to unravel the whereabout of this weapons, the average peaceful #EndSARS that came out to demand accountability and seek better working conditions for those meant to protect him is oblivious of where these weapons are and all this is nothing but a mystery to him.
