Getting a husband can be tough at times, this is why Nigerians keep asking their favourite celebrities when they will get married. While some have been able to settle down with single men, some celebrities were not lucky enough and they had to settle as the second wife.

Here is a list of Nollywood actresses who married their husbands as second wives.

Regina Daniels

20-year-old Nollywood actress Regina Daniels got married to 58-year-old Ned Nwoko, a Nigerian prince, politician, and businessman. The news rocked Nigeria and fans of the teen actress for months. The marriage was widely criticised on social media because of the 38-year age gap between the couple. But the marriage is no longer a secret as they welcomed their first child in June.

In an interview with Daddy Freeze, Regina revealed why she married her husband saying;

“I don’t think I could have married someone of my age because I am quite stubborn, very stubborn, my head is not down but with my husband that is not the case because I respect him a lot,”

For many years, Regina was recognised as one of Nigeria’s finest child stars who won many hearts after she starred in ‘Marriage of Sorrow’, at age seven.

She shot into limelight when she featured in a Nollywood movie titled ‘Miracle Child’ in 2010

Mercy Johnson

Most talented and sought after actress in the English sector of Nollywood, Mercy Ozioma Johnson got married to Prince Odianosen Okojie, who was married to a Canada-based lady named Lovely with two kids.

There was drama when Lovely came out of the blues claiming that she is the legally married wife of Prince Odianose, who Mercy was planning to get married to and that she can’t get abandoned like that because she is still legally married to her husband, Prince Okojie.

She finally let the new loved up couple have their way while she moved on with her life. When asked about her former husband in an interview with encomium, she said:

“What do you mean? That is my past. Don’t ask me questions about my past. I don’t want to relate with my past. In fact, I don’t know what you are talking about, I have no explanation to anybody. Life is full of ups and downs. I have accepted my fate. The children are doing fine. I thank God for them. ”

Mercy Johnson and Prince Okojie recently welcomed their fourth child in the States in May.

Their relationship had been in the newspapers; not just because she is one of those people that newspapers like to write things about, but also because Ehiagwina had already been married, to Ruth Okoro, a Nigerian-American model, and actress.

Okoro made his leaving her for Edo ugly and public, both of them saying terrible things about each other. The marriage ended in September 2014 after six years.
