In latest reports concerning the saga surrounding murder suspect, Chidinma Ojukwu, and late Mr. Usifo Ataga, Chidinma reportedly pled not guilty to the charge of murder leveled against her.
Chidinma, who is now 22, was earlier arraigned at the Lagos State High Court, before the presiding judge, Justice Yetunde Adesanya, along with another suspect in the case, Adedapo Quadri.
Aside from the charge of murder, seven other charges, bordering on theft and forgery, were leveled against them. Chidinma’ s sister, Miss Chioma Ojukwu, was also charged alongside her in court, as it was learned that an iPhone which had belonged to the late Ataga, was found in her possession.
Recall that nearly four months ago on the 16th of June, the Ataga saga came into the public domain when the then- CEO of Super TV, Michael Usfio Ataga, was discovered at an Airbnb lodging with multiple knife wounds on his body.
The case came to light after his lover, Chidinma, who he had been with before he checked into the lodging, was tracked down and arrested by security operatives at her father’ s home.
That was after she had left Ataga’ s corpse in the room, taking some of his items, and made a withdrawal of N380, 000 from his bank account, using his ATM card.
Chidinma was put on parade by the Lagos State police command, whilst being questioned by various media houses concerning her role in the murder of the CEO.
Chidinma had earlier denied that she killed the CEO, instead alleging that she was high on drugs on the night of the murder and that she stopped him when he tried to make moves on her. The case is currently still in court.
