An investigation is underway to identify and prosecute individuals responsible for the attack at the Nigerian Defence Academy, and something was recently observed on social media.
The Nigerian Defence Academy has denied arresting a member of the Nigerian Air Force, Sergeant Torsabo Solomon, in connection with the facilities attack.
In August, armed men stormed the institution, killing two people.
According to sources, Sergeant Solomon was apprehended on Monday and flown to Kaduna for further investigation.
Some of the accounts cited two different written notifications regarding the arrest.
On 08 Nov 21, at around 0600hr, NAF07/ 23922, SGT Torsobo Solomon of 153 BSG (AIRFORCE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL YOLA) was detained on the order of the Base Commander as requested by the NDA Commander for an infraction involving arms and ammunition in connection with a recent bandit attack at NDA Kaduna.
At about 0815hr, ATR with reg no NAF 930 to reach flight line to transfer him from Yola to NDA KADUNA for further interrogation, ” the second note on the suspect’ s airlift from Yola says.
However, in a statement issued Monday night by Major Bashir Jajira, the NDA stated that he was not in their custody.

According to the statement, the Nigerian Defence Academy’ s attention was drawn to a viral published on social media regarding the detainment of one Sgt Torsabo Solomon for his involvement in the security breach at the Nigerian Defence Academy, and the matter was conveyed to the Academy for investigation.
They further informed the public that the above- mentioned individual is not in the custody of the Nigerian Defence Academy, as previously reported, and has no link to the Academy.
Continuing, the Nigerian Defence Academy is a Military Training Institution, not a Security Investigation Agency. The general public is encouraged to dismiss this misinformation and to seek clarification from relevant Investigative Security Agencies.
The Nigerian Defence Academy desires to reassure the general public that those responsible for the security breach on the Nigerian Defence Academy infrastructure would be apprehended sooner rather than later.
