Nigerian Police Takes Another Step In Fighting Insecurity In Nigeria, Read What Happened
According to People’ s Gazette, Usman Baba, the current inspector general of Police had just expressed concern over the rising security threats in Nigeria and had decided to take a bold step in addressing them. People’ s Gazette made it known that the Police IG held a meeting with senior Police officers in Abuja where a decision was reached for heavily trained and experienced officers to the deployed to many regions across the country.
Mr. Usman Baba pointed out that the police would from now on, take the security in the country very seriously as it had aggravated to a very delicate point throughout the history of the country.
The police chief also made it known that the increased smuggling of Guns and heavy ammunition in the country is another cause for worry and the force is ready to collaborate with the Nigerian customs service to check this problem of Gun smuggling into the country.
While speaking further on the issue of gun smuggling, the Police IG pointed out clearly that the illegal approval of gun Importations can be blamed for the attack on the Kuje correction facility which took place weeks ago, and also, the banditry and other criminal activities currently ongoing in the country.
