The group had in a press statement made available to journalists on Friday by its spokesman, Micheal Ogunsina, who stated that the APC should not allow desperation to push them into trouble, maintaining that if anything happened to the governor, the party would have them and all Nigerians to contend with.
“We are using this medium to alert Nigerians and international leaders such as the President of United States of America, Donald Trump, other world leaders, and all embassies, to hold the APC, Yahaya Bello and others in their party responsible, should anything happen to Governor Seyi Makinde before, during and after the governorship polls holding on Saturday in Kogi State”
While thanking the people of Kogi State, who besieged the hotel, to join others to repel the bandits, the group called on the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, to immediately provide adequate Security around the governor, and set up an investigation panel, that would fish out the perpetrators of the crime. It stressed that Nigerians would be very much interested in knowing those who went to the hotel where the governor lodged in the hooded mask.
OSDAG chided Aisha Buhari and Mallam Nasiru Elrufai, stressing that if they had prevailed on Yahaya Bello to pay pensioners and civil servants in Kogi State, he wouldn’t be too desperate to want to cling on to power for the second term, maintaining that Yahaya Bello, blew the youthful opportunity given to him, when he inherited an election won by the late former Governor, Prince Audu Abubakar, he ought to know that there would be a day of reckoning for all his misrule.
Advising him not to direct his anger on Makinde, who was tasked with the assignment of delivering a people’s centric governor for the Kogi People, it urged the APC to in the interest of peace, allow the election to be conducted devoid of violence.
