Water is life, but we can take too much of it and it can damage our bodies. We usually talk about the benefits of having water in the water and sometimes I wonder if this is the disadvantage of drinking water.
Water is a fluid that cools the body, quenches thirst, and calms the mind. So you will not think about the possible side effects of drinking water or going overboard with water.
Drinking too much water is sometimes dangerous. This can lead to a decrease in sodium levels in the blood. We will worry about the side effects of consuming too much water.
- White urine
Many people may say they see no problem with this, but the truth is pale yellow urine is a sigh for healthy hydration levels. If you see dark or white urine, it means dehydration or excess hydration.
- Swollen lips and feet
When electrolytes are imbalanced in the body, it can cause swelling of your feet and lips. This means that there is a decrease in sodium levels in the blood.
- Headache and nausea
As we noted earlier, too much water in the body can cause blood sodium levels to drop, which can lead to nausea and headaches.
- Weakness in the muscles
Due to low sodium levels, muscles become weak and spasms occur. Often times, you will feel pain in your legs and arms, but you can’t tell what’s causing the pain. This could be due to high water levels.
- Fatigue and fatigue
If you feel too tired even though you don’t do anything, it could be a sign that you have too much water in your body. Too much water can cause you to lose energy because the body uses up energy when you try to regulate the water level in the body.
