OHANAEZE BLASTS Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB After Meeting Buhari In Imo, See What They Said

The main Igbo socio- political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has stated that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB’ s actions may damage the South East region’ s chances of producing Nigeria’ s president in 2023.

Kanu’ s directive that his followers not participate in voter registration and destroy their Personal Voters Cards, PVCs, would have a negative impact on the Igbo producing the nation’ s next leader to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, according to Ohanaeze Ndigbo’ s Deputy President- General, Dimm Uche Okwukwu.

In an interview with the Daily Post, Okwukwu urged Nigerians not to see Igbos through the lens of Kanu and IPOB.

Igbos, according to Okwukwu, are peace- loving people who are always prepared to live in peace with other Nigerians.

Kanu, he added, should be ignored since he criticizes Igbo and non- Igbo leaders.

” Marginalization has a way of creating results, ” he added, ” and you will agree with me that the vast majority of people are impoverished and marginalized. ”

” These poor disadvantaged people will follow you if you give them what they want to hear; however, Nnamdi Kanu is not getting it right since he has succumbed to violence as a way of life and has not limited it to Igbo leaders.

” He has attacked Asiwaju, Ekweremadu, and Rotimi Amaechi in Lagos; he has threatened to assassinate Igbo leaders and governors, so he is not only attacking outsiders; he is also assaulting his Igbo brothers and sisters.

” The point I’ m trying to make is that we need to take Nnamdi Kanu and put him back where he belongs. He is not an Igbo leader and so cannot speak on behalf of the Ndigbo people.

” This is my argument: Igbos do not believe in violence, chaos, or the destruction of lives and property. Igbos in Nigeria are eager to live in peace with other tribes.

” Igbos are demanding that the Presidency be given to an Igbo man 50 years after the conflict. Jonathan ruled for six years and Nigeria did not vanish; Yorubas were in power, the North controlled, and now the Igbo may rule. Will they have any other arguments tomorrow if you give them the presidency? Will they claim that Nigeria is pushing them out? The answer is no, because people would wonder what they did with the presidency after they had it for eight years.

” Kanu’ s agitation will undoubtedly have a significant impact on our chances. Nnamdi Kanu’ s agitations, statements, acts, omissions, and commissions all have an impact on us in some way.

” He is blocking Igbo voters from registering to vote, and he is urging supporters to destroy their PVC cards. Apart from the reality that Nigeria requires our assistance to some level, Nnamdi Kanu’ s actions reflect our own.

” The result of his conduct jeopardizes our desire because when you say people should trash their PVCs and not engage in voter registration, it affects us in some manner, and I won’ t deny it in any way.

” However, I implore to everyone not to mirror the Igbos through IPOB’ s actions. “
