Reno Omokri, the media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to the gifts given to corps members in Daura by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, the 20th of July, 2021.
The corps members paid Sallah homage to the president at his residence in Daura, Kastina State, immediately after the Eid-el-Kabr prayer on Tuesday.
During the visit, President Buhari said the National Youth Service Corps has succeeded in uniting the country. He thanked the former military Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, for establishing the scheme.
The president gave the visitors 20 bags of rice, 2 cows and one million Naira.
In reaction to the gift, Omokri said the corps members should have learnt from Ghanaian youths and rejected the gifts offered to them by the president.
Omokri said this on his Twitter handle on Wednesday, 21st of July, 2021. He said: “Did the NYSC members in Daura not see what happened in Ghana? They should have returned Buhari’s cows and one million Naira to him and asked for jobs instead. The man ruined the economy and is giving them cows and peanuts. Think Nigerian youths. Don’t eat your future!”
