Dear Biafra and Oduduwa nation agitators.
We, the Indigenous people of Yoruba and Igbo land who reside in the northern part of Nigeria wish to pour out our minds concerning the recent dust rising over the quest to divide Nigeria. Since we believe that what you seek will in one way or the other affect us, we hereby render our public opinion concerning your demand for a referendum to have a separate nation. We will never support the division of Nigeria for many reasons.
Firstly, we can not afford to lose our properties here in the north all because of your selfish interests. It hurts our emotions that you don’t seek our views before speaking for us. Do you know how great Nigeria is as a nation? Do you even consider the number of businesses and properties that will be affected both in the north and the whole Nigeria at large if you succeed in breaking the nation into pieces? Have you asked yourselves how the people will react if you force a referendum on them? We will never support your agenda to divide this nation.
Secondly, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Chief Sunday Igboho who claimed to be fighting for the freedom of their people but are very confused humans made sure that they fly their families abroad and want us to die in the fight that they are about to instigate. Why can’t they bring their families down to Nigeria to support the agitation? These people might have hidden intentions that are not in the interest of the people. We live in the north and have expanded our business and families there, and we can’t abandon them to chase after shadows. Nigeria must remain together.
Lastly, we are sacred of the economic crisis that might arise following the agitation for Oduduwa and Biafra nation, it will be sad to see our economy which has grown over the years get clashed by some groups of people who seek division. We hereby call on the U.S. and other strong nations to assist Nigeria in its depleting state. They should help us arrest Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu who are fueling the agitations. In conclusion, we make our stand to support Nigeria and decline any call for division.
