It is no longer news that President Muhammadu Buhari is in his hometown Daura, Katsina State for the Sallah festivities.
While receiving the representatives of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC deployed to his hometown, president Buhari cautioned that it is better for Nigeria to remain united, notwithstanding the differences among all nationalities in Nigeria. He further stated that the diversity in the culture and ethics of Nigeria had been a strength for the growth and progress of the country.
According to history, Nigeria nation had a civil unrest from 1967-1970, due to the move by the secessionist parts to break out from Nigeria. The unrest led to political, economic, cultural and religious tensions in Nigeria within that period. However, after the return of democracy in Nigeria, successive government have continued to preach on the unity and progress of Nigeria. In view of this, president Muhammadu Buhari has added his voice severally on the unity of Nigeria. The arrest of Sunday Igboho in Cotonou is another big reason why Nigeria will remain united. Igboho was captured while trying to flee to Germany. Igboho is a secessionist leader fighting for Yoruba Nation break out from Nigeria. With his sudden arrest, the government of president Buhari will definitely make him drop his agitation.
