The Senior Special Assistant to Benue State Governor on Media and ICT, Hon. James Igbudu, alongside his colleagues, Hon. David Mzer, and Hon. Philip Makuuv, have narrowly escaped death in an attack that claimed the lives of not fewer than four person including a three month old baby, suspected to be carried out by Herdsmen militia.
Hon. James Igbudu and his colleagues were said to going Umenger in Guma Local Government Area to attend a political function when their convoy came under attack at Ulevkaa village.
According to eye witness, the attackers blocked the road, and opened fire on a Toyota Picnic, Killing a 3 month-old baby who was shot in the chest, and his mother shot on her lap.
Hon. Philip Mbakuuv, was said to be directly behind the Toyota Picnic, when he saw the herders shooting at the car in front of him, he turned and returned to Uikpam.
Mr Terver Akaa, an indigene of Uvir who was conveying his wife on a motorcycle were killed, and Solomon Kumaiin was also butchered by the killers.
As at the time of this report, the remains of Terver and his wife were taken to a mortuary in Daudu, while those injured were taken to a hospital for treatment.
