The Ani family of Umuohagwu Obie Aku in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State have been thrown into mourning following Sunday’s tragedy in Owo, Ondo State.
Enugu born Virginus Ani and his daughter Chidiogo were among the unfortunate worshippers who lost their lives during the invasion of Owo Catholic church, Ondo State.
It was learnt that the deceased, his wife and one of his children had attended the early morning service and returned safely before late Virginus, his son, and daughter joined the subsequent church service during which the hoodlums struck.
It was also learnt that immediately his father fell to the ground following a gunshot, the son dived and rolled with him on the ground feigning to have been shot too.
Thus he was saved from the bullet of the invaders who also killed the deceased little daughter.
Over 50 worshippers are believed to have been murdered during the invasion which happened towards the end of the Sunday Church Service.
The hoodlums reportedly opened fire on the congregation leaving behind tears, sorrow, and blood.
