Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of the Living Faith Worldwide, A.K.A. ‘Winners’ Chapel’, has vowed not to take COVID-19 vaccine.
Oyedepo, while preaching on Saturday at the Church’s Hour of Prayer, said the world is confused and did not know the next thing to do, just as he added that forcing people to take the vaccine is immoral.
it will be recalled that the Federal Government over the past weeks has continued to implore Nigerians to get themselves vaccinated against Covid-19, with assurance that taking the vaccine does not have any negative consequences on the body system as been rumoured by some section of people.
“..You can’t come to my house and want to give me injection. Did you see any outbreak of virus here? How will it enter the gate? Will it come through the air? The man of God asked.”
Speaking further, Oyedepo added: “Let me see someone who will come and inject me. By who? Are you going to tie my hands. How? Did I invite you?
It will be recalled that in March, Nigeria received nearly 4 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, shipped via the COVAX Facility, a partnership between CEPI, Gavi, UNICEF and WHO.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government about two weeks ago, asked all states administering the COVID-19 vaccine to stop the exercise the moment they used half of the doses allocated to them.
Minister of State for Health, Sen. Olorunnimbe Mamora, explained that the directive became necessary since the country was not sure when next the second batch of the AstraZeneca vaccine would arrive the country.
