PDP Crisis: After Wike Insisted On Ayu Must Go, BOT Makes Shocking Response, Dares Wike
Iyorchia Ayu will not step down as National Chairman of the People’ s Democratic Party (PDP), according to the People’ s Democratic Party Board of Trustees (BoT), which made the announcement.
Following the meeting that took place on Wednesday at the party’ s National Headquarters in Abuja, this was the resolution that was reached by the party.
Senator Abdul Ningi, who was joined by the Chairman of the Board, Walid Jibrin, as he briefed journalists following the meeting, stated that the primary purpose of the meeting was to examine the ongoing problem that has been plaguing the party.
He stated that the conference was summoned to intercede in the conflict that involved the party’ s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State.
When Atiku disobeyed the decision of the selection committee for the PDP, which had voted to nominate Wike as the party’ s vice presidential candidate, the internal conflict inside the PDP became publicly apparent.
Atiku settled for Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa. Since that time, Wike and the rest of his associates have refrained from participating in the operations of the party.
Ningi, on the other hand, stated that ” We haven’ t considered anyone stepping down. ” The formation of a committee was the topic of our discussion.
