PDP CRISIS: Wike May Lose Out As Ayu FINALLY Gives Condition To Step Aside
Senator Iyorchia Ayu, who serves as the National Chairman of the People’ s Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed that he is ready to do anything to bring peace back to the party.
According to the report gathered from The NATION, supporters of Governor Nyesom Wike are demanding that Senator Ayu resign from his position because northerners cannot hold all major positions within the PDP.
The camp of Governor Wike claims that the chairman of the People’ s Democratic Party (PDP) was biased to refer Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State as the ” hero” of the party’ s convention because he stepped down for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Senator Ayu had presented a condition for his resignation during a meeting that was called by the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the main opposition party. The condition stated that the stakeholders must be adamant about his departure.
According to the statement made by the chairman of the PDP, all members of the National Working Committee (NWC) from the South should swap their respective roles with those from the North.
It was gathered that the stakeholders of the party kicked against accepting the agenda because of concern that a large number of their supporters would lose their position in the NWC.
Wike is one of those who stand to lose out as a matter of fact that one of his allies, Senator Samuel Anyanwu from the South East zone, is serving as the PDP National Secretary at the moment.
