Olabisi Gabriel Adegboye, the Senior Pastor of the Worksword of God Church, has reacted to the arrest of Sunday Igboho and issued a warning to the Federal Government.
The arrest of the Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho has been generating reactions from several people over the past hours. Sunday Igboho was reportedly arrested in Cotonou when trying to board a plane to Germany. The activist has been in the custody of police officers In Benin Republic as the Federal Government of Nigeria battles to repatriate him back to the country.
However, Pastor Olabisi Gabriel Adegboye in his recent Facebook post asked why the Department of State Security hasn’t arrested or attacked the house of Sheikh Gumi, who has been covering and interacting with the bandits. The pastor made this statement on Wednesday and issued warnings to the federal government to stop using violence to correct citizens and let peace reign in the country.
It is on record that Sheikh Gumi has always defended bandits, and help government and families of kidnapped victims to negotiate with bandits. Some time ago, Skeikh Gumi said the military should stop killing bandits because they also have their families and advised the government to set up an amnesty program for them.
What is your take on pastor Olabisi Gabriel Adegboye’s statement?
Since Sheikh Gumi is not a bandit but a negotiator, do you think he should be arrested by the DSS?
