Nigeria Military is one of the powerful military in Africa. No thanks to the war against terrorists (which have lasted for more than a decade), Nigeria Military have some of the best weapons in the continent.

The past and present government have funded the military to acquire sophisticated weapons so as to have an edge in the fight against terrorists. One of the weapons the Nigeria Military acquire that is rare in the entire west Africa is the WingLoong II Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV). Nigeria joined China and UAE as the only countries operating the WingLoong II Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle.

The UCAV purposes are for surveillance, reconnaissance and for offensive missions. The UCAV can be armed with variety of weapons including laser-guided bombs and missiles such as the AKD-10 air-to-surface anti-tank missile, BRMI-90 90mm guided rocket, FT-7/130 small 130kg bomb with planar wing, and FT-9/50 50kg bombs.

The wing long can remain airborne for 31 hours for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance mode. It can also stay 26 hours in offensive mode. These UCAV will go along way to help the ground troops in the war.
