The commissioner of education in Lagos State, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo has announced that after much consideration the government has decided that schools in the State are once again fit for resumption. Students are to resume on Monday, 2nd of November, 2020 while boarders in public schools are to resume on Sunday, 1st of November which is next week.
Remember that last week schools had to be closed due to the violence that erupted in the state from the #ENDSARS protest . The closure of schools in the state was coming after a long battle with covid-19 and the lockdown that made students stay at home for months
In the words of the commissioner she said
“We pray and hope that there will be no more disruptions in the academic calendar. However, the State Government will always regard the safety of pupils/students, parents and all staff as a matter of priority .”
“We recommend that when schools resume on Monday, teaching and learning should continue unhindered till the end of the term .”
Thankfully the week has been peaceful so hopefully it stays like that. But parents and guardians please ensure you follow your children and wards to school just got safety reasons. We pray that the Lord will continue to protect us and our family
