President Buhari: Kwankwaso Cautions National Assembly Over Impeachment Plans

Following the deadline given to President Muhammadu Buhari over the alarming state of insecurity in the country , the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has told members of the National Assembly not to be in a hurry to carry out their threat of impeachment.

Baring his mind during a recent visit to the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in Ilorin, Kwankwaso urged the lawmakers not to “rock the boat”.

He advised them to tread softly as what was going on in the country could happen to anyone, citing the example of the attack on the president’s convoy.

“I don’t know the facts that they have. But as their former colleague, I want them to tread very softly. They should not be in a hurry to rock the boat.

“Yes, I know they have reasons to be worried. I am sure everybody in this country is worried about insecurity because some of these things could happen to anybody, even the presidential fleet was attacked in Katsina State. So, I think we need to do more.”

Speaking further, Kwankwaso expressed confidence in the military, stating that they were capable of winning the war against insurgency while advocating for a wider consultation irrespective of political differences.
