Nigerian activist, Deji Adeyanju has reacted to the statement the president made yesterday during his interview with Arise TV.
Recall that President Buhari alleged that the #Endsars protest which took place last year was a deliberate move to remove him from power.
Reacting to this, Deji Adeyanju asked the president if he was trying to remove former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan from power when he protested in 2014 during the administration of the Peoples Democratic Party.
President Muhammadu Buhari and other chieftains of the All Progressive Congress staged a protest in Abuja accusing the administration of Goodluck Jonathan of playing politics with Boko Haram.
Deji Adeyanju has come online to ask the President if he was planning a coup on that protest or if he was complaining against injustice.
“When the president was protesting against GEJ, was he trying to remove PDP from power or complaining against injustice? When the president was speaking up as a critic, was he planning a coup? PROTEST is a fundamental human right & we must protest tomorrow”, Deji Adeyanju asked.
Deji Adeyanju is one of the activist organizing the June 12 protest which is taking place tomorrow.
He says that protest is the fundamental human right of every Nigerian and tomorrow’s protest must hold.
It is agreed that protest is a right of every citizen but Deji Adeyanju and other activists should explain to protesters that peaceful protest is the only acceptable protest and violent protest is basically known as a riot and should be discouraged.
At this time in the country we can not afford more crisis so June 12 Protesters should ensure that they are law-abiding and peaceful.
