In a tweet which he made on his verified Twitter handle, former presidential candidate, Adamu Garba blasted those who have been agitating for the breakup of Nigeria. He said that those pushing for Nigeria’s breakup are the biggest fools around who do not know what they are doing.
He insinuated that there are constitutional ways to go about things like this, but these agitators have rather chosen to fool themselves around.
He further added that if they truly want the division they are clamouring for, then they need to turn their attention to the politicians who are representing them at all levels at the National Assembly and the judiciary.
He said that if they truly want to divide, then they ought to have turned to those representatives and urge them to sponsor motions for division in the National Assembly and the judiciary. But instead of taking these steps, they chose to post their agitation on social media. He described their actions as a joke.
The cries of separation have been quite loud from different quarters in the past days.
On Sunday, the former militant leader, Asari Dokubo, stirred the hornet’s nest when he dared President Muhammadu Buhari and proclaimed a Biafran government.
He said that he is the leader of the Biafra defacto Customary Government, and that it is time for them to take their destinies in their hands, and that nobody can stop them.
He went ahead to list people who will be serving in leadership positions in the new government, and said that they want to walk away peacefully, that they are not ready to fight any war with anyone.
A few days ago, Sunday Igboho also dared the federal government when he released a statement saying that the Yoruba nation is no longer part of Nigeria, and that they are ready for whatever the Nigerian government will do to them.
Nnamdi Kanu on the other hand is one of those people pushing for the breakup of Nigeria, and has been on this agenda for some years now, even after he was arrested and detained by the Nigerian government in 2015.
Adamu Garba said that all these people are the biggest fools around, because they do not know what they are doing. And that their agitations only end up being posted on social media, instead of turning their attention to the people who are representing them at the federal levels.
