The issue of Sunday Igbohore a court in the Benin Republic explaining why he fled Nigeria.
According to Channels Tv News who posted it on their verified Facebook page, Igboho told the judge that he fled the nation because he was put out on the watch list by the Federal Government for fighting against the killer herdsmen. He denied claims by the Nigerian government that he was involved in trafficking in arms or inciting violence and maintained that he has no criminal record in Nigeria. Ibrahim Salami who is his led council disclosed this to journalists after the court proceedings in the Benin Republic.
Recall that Chief Sunday was arrested in Cotonou on July 19 with his wife, while they tried to catch a flight to Germany. The court, on Thursday, ordered his wife’s release and returned him to police custody.
According to report, the court has granted Chief Sunday Igboho access to medical care and ordered that he be transferred to another detention facility.
