Reactions As Nigerian Government Donates Billions Of Naira To Niger Republic Towards The Purchase Of Automobiles

On Wednesday, the Federal Government justified its decision to authorize the expenditure of 1, 145, 000, 000. 00 Nigerian naira toward the purchase of automobiles for the Republic of Niger. However, Minister of finance made the clarification after the Federal Executive Council meeting held recently in Abuja while stating that the news was true.

Questions From Some People

Some people are asking why such funds should be handed over to the Niger Republic when public universities in Nigeria remained closed for approximately five months due to the government’ s inability to meet staff demands.

This has caused some people to express outrage over the generosity of the Federal Government to the neighboring nation.

After it was announced that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari had contributed N1. 14 billion to the Republic of Niger, Nigerians have reportedly flocked to social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook to voice their indignation, as reported by DailyPost.

It was also claimed that this was confirmed by Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning Zainab Ahmed to media shortly after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday.

Shehu Sani Reacted

Shehu Sani, a previous candidate for the governorship of Kaduna state, has reacted as well after the Federal Government stated that they have sent money to the Niger Republic in order for them to purchase vehicles to combat insecurity.
