On Thursday, the minister of information and communication of the federal republic of Nigeria, Lai Muhammed has been told to resign or be sacked from his position as the minister of information.

The call was made on Thursday by a member of the PDP in the national house of representatives. According to Peoples Gazette, a PDP member, Ndudi Elumelu on Thursday, urged the president of Nigeria to immediately release the minister of information of his duties due to the part he indirectly played in the October 2020 EndSars protest.

Reacting to the report made by the Lagos state panel which was inaugurated a few months ago by the Lagos government, Ndudi Elumelu stated that many questions need to be asked and the only person who has the answers to the question is Lai Muhammed.

Ndudi Elumelu said ” President Muhammadu Buhari’ s regime and the Nigerian minister of information Lai Mohammed have questions to answer on the killing of protesters at Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020. Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives, after a thorough review of the report of the Lagos State EndSARS judicial panel, holds that the attempt by officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC)- led Federal Government to cover up the now confirmed massacre of Nigerians youths by security forces at the Lekki Tollgate suggests a high- level state- backed conspiracy against Nigerians. ”

” Without a doubt, the confirmation by the Lagos Panel that there was indeed a massacre at the Lekki Tollgate during the 2020 EndSARS protests in Lagos and that APC government- controlled security forces carted away bodies and mopped up evidence, places a huge burden on the Federal Government which had vehemently denied any killings. ”

” I hereby, call for called for the immediate sack of minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, for rushing to the media, ahead of the judicial panel, to insist that there were no killings at Lekki Tollgate, even in the face of testimonies of witnesses at the sad event. ”

Ndudi Elumelu, PDP minister in the house of representatives made this statement after a report was made public about what happened to many protesters at Lekki toll gate a few months ago.

Peoples Gazette added that many people have been reported dead by the Lagos state panel a few months after the minister of information, Lai Muhammed stated that no casualties were recorded during and after the EndSars protest.
