Reno Omokri has reacted to the update made by Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, that prominent religious leaders who violated the Twitter ban by the Federal Government would be persecuted for using the micro-blogging website even after the ban.
Reno Omokri stated that he would like to see how these men of God, with thousands and millions of followers be persecuted by the Federal Government. He believes their members will not allow that happen.
After the ban placed on Twitter, Bishop David Oyedepo, founder and President of Living Faith Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye of Redeemed Christian Church, Pastor William Kumuyi of Deeper Life Church and Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries International still made use of the micro-blogging website, Twitter to convey messages to their followers.
The minister of information, Lai Mohammed has stated that these men would be persecuted for using Twitter even after the ban, many people have been reacting to the statement, especially because he did not include Elrufai, who has been making use of Twitter since the ban was announced.
Reno Omokri’s reaction has been one of the most popular ones as he also explained why it would not be possible for the Federal Government to do so, he said if they try it, then it would be the beginning of the end of Nigerians tolerating so many things about the country.
Here is what Reno Omokri said about the statement of Lai Mohammed on persecuting Oyedepo, Adeboye and Kumuyi;
“Lai Mohammed says Pastor Adeboye, Pastor Kumuyi, Bishop Oyedepo and Apostle Suleman will all be prosecuted. I will like to see that happen. Perhaps that will be the beginning of the end of our tolerance for the incompetence of this regime.”
According to Reno Omokri’s Tweet, he would love to see the Federal Government try to persecute the aforementioned men of God who have been using Twitter even after the ban.
Do you see the persecution of these men ever happening? If it does, what would happen?
