The federal government of Nigeria has threatened to declare a state of emergency in Anambra State to ensure the gubernatorial election is held.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is scheduled to hold elections in the state on November 6, 2021.

The Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said the federal government was committed to doing everything possible to ensure that people were given their rights.

The federal government on Wednesday said it could declare a state of emergency in Anambra State if necessary, the Tribune reported.

According to President Buhari’ s administration, it will take all necessary steps to ensure that the November 6 elections are held in the state.

Antoni Janar, Abubakar Malami, made the remarks while answering questions from the media shortly after the FEC meeting at the presidential palace.

In addition, he said there was nothing the government could do to ensure that the elections were conducted peacefully.

What does FG plan to do for the Anambra election?

The Minister of Justice, Malami, said: ” As long as our national security is attacked, and we are threatened in a democracy, we will do everything possible. ”

” As a government, we have a responsibility to uphold the rule of law and our right to protect the lives and property of our people. ”

” Therefore, blowing these burdens imposed on us by the constitution is not the right way to go. ”

We will do everything right. The minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami added that the government was ready to do whatever was necessary to ensure that the Anambra state governorship election was held.

” It’ s not something we can do, including the imposition of a state of emergency. So our position in government is to provide security to make sure the election is held. “
